Dedicated to the memory of our much-loved and irreplaceable Marc

To everyone reading this,

There is no easy way to write this but as many of you know, on Monday 26th July, Marc sadly died after returning from a run during our family holiday. Despite the efforts of ourselves and others, unfortunately nothing could be done to save him.

Marc meant the world to us within our very close family, and we know that he shared his kindness, happiness and laughter with everyone he met. We would like to focus on celebrating Marc and his life by living our lives in ways that we know he would want us to and trying to do something worthwhile, with not only our grief, but everyone’s grief who knew him and are missing him like we are.

In light of this, we have chosen two charities to raise money for in Marc’s name. If you would like to, and are able to, please make a donation below to help support either or both of the following charities, “CRY” (Cardiac Risk in the Young) or “Winston’s Wish“.

CRY helps to support families who find themselves in the same situation as we have: Losing someone young to a sudden cardiac arrest. They offer bereavement support which is targeted to individuals based on their relationship with the person who has died, as well as, putting valuable time, research and funding, into providing cardiac screening to try and help minimise the number of people who die in these circumstances. They have already been a great support to us.

Winston’s Wish is the UK’s childhood bereavement charity. They support children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling. They offer a Freephone national helpline, books to support adults and children, as well as, a range of specialist bereavement support.

Thank you in advance for your donations. Over the coming weeks and months, please keep smiling when you can, hug those close to you and laugh about the times you shared with Marc.

Lots of love to you all,
Marc’s Family

A celebration of the life of Marc

Marc's family and friends have recently joined together to celebrate his life.

As many of you will know, Marc had a huge passion for reading and an immense collection of books! Therefore, we would like to make a book all about him which is written by everyone who knew him best. The book will be a keepsake for us to read over the coming days, months and years to help us to remember happy times, to laugh and we’re sure at times, cry, about everything that made Marc so amazing and such a good person to be around.

If you would like to write a contribution for his book, please send a photo and/or some text to share with us a happy memory, a funny story, words you would use to describe Marc etc to marcsbook@yahoo.com.  Please include your name and how you knew Marc.  If you could send your memories to this email address by the end of October, that would be much appreciated.

Please contact Nikki or Lisa of Barringtons Funeral Directors if you require any help or further information, including how to make a donation: Telephone (Night or Day) : 01279 860055
